Tetrimäki - the Factory of Beauty

Behind the Finnish Tetrimäki fine carpentry workshop is a Christian community that helped orphaned German, Karelian, and Russian children after World War II. German Lutz Reinhardt visited Tetrimäki in Vehmersalmi with his father when he was 14 years old. Then he came back in the 1970s and became enthused about woodworking. Reinhardt graduated as a master carpenter and founded Tetrimäki woodwork shop. He got a contact to manufacture Eliel Saarinen´s furniture exclusively.

Our Eero Saarinen, Eliel Saarinen, and P.E. Blomstedt collections represent some of the finest examples of Finnish fine carpentry and unique craftsmanship. Its beauty lasts from decade to decade and is an elegant choice for modern homes and public interiors.

Tetrimäki´s philosophy is based on handcraft know-how. The two elements cherished by Lutz Reinhardt were beauty and quality. He was known to have called his business “The factory of beauty”. Today this furniture manufacturing is continued under the ownership of Suomen Maatilapalvelut Oy, and the factory is now located in Nurmijärvi, Finland.

The company continues to maintain the tradition of Finnish fine carpentry and is honored to continue this Finnish cultural legacy of Saarinen design.
