Tetrimäki brings out new designs for Habitare and Helsinki Design Week, including chair and tables. The new ISO chair has been designed for Tetrimäki by Ben af Schultén. The chair has a chromed metal frame and hardwood seat and back. Upholstery options are leather and wool fabric.
Interior architect Ben af Schultén is a world known Finnish furniture designer. He worked for decades as an Artek’s Artistic Director. The new ISO chair is based on his earlier design, the ”Espa” chair.
Update 1/2016: Ben af Schultén has added ISO-table to the collection.
Ben af Schultén has received the SIO Furniture Award in 1999 for his lifetime work as a designer at Artek, Ilmari Tapiovaara Prize in 2005, and the Pro Finlandia Medal in 2008.
Tetrimäki is the manufacturer of Eliel Saarinen’s, Eero Saarinen’s and Pauli E. Blomstedt’s classic furniture, and is now extending its collection of high quality designs to Ben af Schultén´s work. Af Schultén’s first designs for Tetrimäki include side table and sofa table which supplement Eero Saarinen’s Grasshopper armchair collection.
The new designs will be presented for the first time to public during the Habitare Fair and Helsinki Design Week in Helsinki 9.-13.09.2015.
